New Paltz and Mr. Bowie's Castle

This past weekend, Verity in Stereo headed up to New Paltz, NY. On thursday we played at a bar called Snug Harbor. The Bar was nice and the bartender supplied the band with beer but, there were only about 15 people there so it was sort of a bust. The next day, we wrote a little music then headed to a BBQ at Kiirstin's friend Liz's house. We drank beer and played asshole and gave everyone a taste of the dirty Jerz. We played at a coffee house called the Muddy Cup that night to a similar sized crowd. There was more of a turnover though so more exposure I guess. After the show, I met up with Vasi and her mom and we drove to a motel outside of town. The next morning we got up early so that we could hike/rock climb the next day. It was a fantastic day. 5 & 1/2 hour hike around Mohonk Mountain. There was even a castle in the middle with a path leading up to it called the labyrinth. Vasi and I concluded that the Goblin Prince himself lived in those hallowed halls. After the hike, we had a nice dinner with Natasha and Bob-O, Vasi's mom and climbing buddy respectively. The drive home was quick and the sleep afterwords was deep. I can't wait to do it again!

Waldorf, MD and the Delta Blues

Hello from Waldorf, Maryland! I'm currently sitting in one of my band's manager's friend's house. What a day, what a night! The 4 hour drive seemed to fly by with Corinne, Mikal, and Craig in the car. That and I was going very fast. I hit 96 mph at one point.
We played at a Christian music club. There was a giant stop sign with "STOP ABORTIONS NOW" written on it. A lot of Republicans. There were about 10 kids that crowded the stage to hear us. They seemed to really enjoy the music so at least there was that. Good times.
After the show we went a half a mile up the street to a place called Delta Blues Juke Joint & Diner. For the people from JU, think if the old UD was a Creole place. The food was excellent and the staff was too. The chef and owner even hung out with us and gave us free food. Highly recommend this joint.
Today, we'll be walking through D.C. I havent been here in a while so it should be fun. Plus the weather is gorgeous! Take care everyone and thanks for reading!

My new iMac

So, some new things happening. I just bought a new iMac. The 27" one with the i7 processor. IT'S FLIPPIN SWEET!!! Editing is so easy with a gigantic screen! The picture of the computer has a 1080p trailer in it and it doesn't even take up the whole screen! I've decided to reorganize my basement to create a hang out space. I'll have my xbox and big screen down there and a couple of couches. I just have to put some hard work into making more space and tidying up. Also, I'm looking to create a studio space down there for my band to practice/record in. That's also pending on my reorganization. Derril, from Hsu-Nami, is going to help me out with the studio part. He's pretty much the tits!
On the business end of things, I'll be headed down to the D.C. area this weekend to play a show with my band. If you know anyone in the area, tell them to come out. The addresses are on our website so it'll be easy for them to find. Thanks for listening and I hope everyone is doing well!

Back in the New Jersey

This weekend was quite the time. Most of the weekend was spent eating borscht, cheddar cheese, and dog. Well maybe not the dog but he sure did look tasty! It was my first time eating borscht and let me tell you, it's derrrricious! It's especially good with a good dollop of sour cream. Yum! Vasi even let me take the left overs home :)
I also went into the sauna. It was very relaxing as usual. It feels like the tension in your muscles just melts away. That is until you pour a bucket of ice water over your head to cool down. That feels good too but nerve wrecking to inflict on yourself.
We also went to the local park to walk Vasi's dog Toby. There are sheep, goats, and ponies there too. I'll post a bunch of pictures. There was one brown goat that was my favorite. I called him Ninja Goat. He was bad-ass.
Other than that, I'm headed down to the D.C. area to play a few shows this weekend. I'll update you guys about that as the date gets closer. Until then, take care of yourselves. Toodles!

Headed to the Great North

After a long few days of shoveling and practice, I'm driving up to Connecticut with Vasi. We're spending a few days relaxing and eating Russian food. Also, we'll be hopping in the sauna and beating each other with birch branches! Who said domestic violence can't be fun?! I'll be taking my camera and phone so I'll hopefully take a bunch of pictures. But for now I must get ready. Have a wonderful Valentine's Day weekend y'all!

Let it Snow!

It's snowing outside and I'm stuck at home with my Mom and Sophie. We just finished shoveling the driveway but it's still snowing. We'll have to go again tonight so my Mom can go to work tomorrow. I plan on reorganizing my room today. Well, de-clutter is more precise. Vasilisa is my inspiration for this. Her minimal material possession philosophy is a good one. Other then that, I'm headed up to Connecticut for Valentine's day weekend. It should be a good one. Sauna time with Vasi is always fun. By the way, there's a road somewhere in between us and those houses....

Hello!

This is my first time ever doing a blog! I'm nervous and excited to start journaling my life for everyone to see. I'm doing this now because I feel like, with my new band and touring, I'm going to have a lot of things to share and hopefully it's fun and interesting. I'm sorry if I disappoint at first but, like I said, I'm new to this. I never was an 'A' student in English, but I do enjoy getting my ideas out. Anyways, I will be posting as often as possible so please subscribe to my blog and give me feedback! Much love!
